About the role:

This role will be based in the Kyabram region of Victoria working with a delightful TAC client.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work and provide the services for a leading registered service provider. This role will report to the regional care coordinator on an ongoing roster.

Salary: $38.84 – $85.45 per hour

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Assist client in undertaking a range of activities of daily living including- medication reminders, personal & self-care, domestic duties, cleaning, food preparation & mealtime assistance, dressing & maintenance of personal hygiene and community access;
  • Satisfactory client contact and interaction;
  • Follow established practices, procedures, care plans and care directions; 
  • Fill progress notes and other relevant care documents for each care and support provision
  • Engage in all direct/indirect supervision;
  • Undertake in person, online and other training as directed;
  • Always ensure you follow compliance requirements as per guidance, regularly checking that you follow best work practices and documentation;
  • Maintain the highest level of professional integrity and ensure the privacy and confidentiality of client information;
  • Ensure all support work practice is at the highest quality standard
  • Any other duties as directed from time to time.

Essential Criteria – 

Skills and Personal Traits:

  • Empathetic – possess a real passion to care for participants.
  • Ability to work cohesively with others
  • Ability to demonstrate time-management skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Must have experience working in challenging environments.
  • Demonstrated understanding of following stipulated procedures
  • Trained in administering Medication (midazolam) and peg feeding.
  • Hoisting experience
  • Management of Seizures
  • Personal care

Experience: 

  • Have as least one 1 year of full-time work experience undertaken in Australia in any of the following areas: Health/Aged Care/Disability Services (Required)

Qualifications: 

  • A Certificate II or III in one of the following (or equivalent): Individual Support/ Aged Care/ Disability/ Nursing. At least one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification (Required).

Licence/Certifications: 

  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate or the ability to obtain one (Preferred)
  • Satisfactory Working with Children’s Check (Employee) or the ability to obtain one (Preferred)
  • Satisfactory National Police Check for ‘Employment in Disability’ (issued less than 1 year ago) (not required if you hold a valid NDIS screening clearance) (Preferred)
  • Current Driver’s License, your own car and comprehensive/third party insurance (Preferred)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check ID or the ability to obtain one (Required)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (Preferred)
  • Qualification in Health/Aged Care/Disability Services (Preferred)
  • Proof of COVID Vaccination certificate including booster (Required)
  • COVID 19 Infection Control training High attention to detail to produce a high-quality standard of work (Preferred)
